MANAA Panel Raises Awareness About Asian Americans in Entertainment

On Friday, July 14, Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) coordinated with AYC to provide a panel discussion on Asian American presence in the media. For our students, it was their first time participating in a panel discussion and they enjoyed asking questions to the panelists which included the very talented Suzy Nakamura, Krista Marie Yu from the ABC show "Dr. Ken", and Leonardo Nam from the HBO show "Westworld." Our students learned so much about the importance of diversity in the television and film industry, and so much more. This was a wonderful, positive experience for our students and they were reminded that they can achieve their dreams as long as they work hard and never give up!
