2017 Scholarship Awards Ceremony

Thank you to all of our generous supporters for making our 2017 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on March 24th an evening to remember!

​We had a wonderful time celebrating the recipients of the May L. To Excellence Award, the Suk Ching Leung Scholarship and the Cheou Wang Scholarship. Here are the scholarship recipients and their short biographies:

Jamie Yang
2017 May L. To Excellence Award Recipient
Jamie participates in Project NEO as a volunteer tutor and mentor for students at Repetto Elementary School. She is a graduating senior attending San Gabriel High School, and takes additional Calculus and Linear Algebra classes at Pasadena City College. Jamie plans to pursue an electrical engineering degree at a secondary college starting Fall 2017.
 
Charlie Tran
2017 Suk Ching Leung Scholarship & Cheou Wang Scholarship Recipient
Charlie is a volunteer with the ACE After-School and Summer Programs. He assists with classroom management and working individually with students. Charlie is a graduating senior attending Gabrielino High School. He will be pursing degree in Mechanical Engineering at UC San Diego starting Fall 2017. 
 
Phoenix Gong
2017 Suk Ching Leung Scholarship Recipient
Phoenix was enrolled in the Accelerating Children’s Education (ACE) After-School Program for a total of 9 years, and has volunteered with phone banking at AYC. She is currently a freshman at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles as a pre-nursing student.
 
Emily Diep
2017 Cheou Wang Scholarship Recipient
Emily has been a volunteer with the ACE Summer Program and Development Activities. She is a graduating senior attending Gabrielino High School. She will be pursuing degree in Bioengineering or Biomedical Engineering at UCLA starting Fall 2017. 

Once again, congratulations to our scholarship recipients! We are sure that these scholarships will help our youth pursue their goals and highest aspirations!
